Alo, its sad to say that my work at mora is over - see "Termination of service notice" meanwhile I found my next adventure, I started a side project (which I'm enjoying a lot) that you can visit here.
The internet is full of examples on "how to describe yourself" even Github Copilot can help with that but in reality, describing yourself is always a hard task, so I will try. I'm passionate, I'm good, I'm skilled, I'm experienced, but above all of that I'm real, real on everything I do, on my capabilities, on my strenghts and on my softness. I have 9 years of experience working for small and medium startups, I even worked for a huge tech company as a remote contractor, but in all of those jobs I was always doing the same which is software, so I think I'm good at it.
Initially in my career I used to spend half of my day helping people on stackoverflow this more than anything helped me a lot on learning how to solve real life issues. I won't say I love to spend my free time coding, but when I'm bored I spend my time on coding related platforms or playing tibia, below you can find some of the projects i'm most proud of.
With no previous experience on developing mobile applications from start to finish, this is the work that I take the most pride in. The timing was crucial and there was an urgency of having a mobile app, so I took the owernship of the development and I succesfuly deployed to both android and apple stores. I was able to do so without leaving my main responsability behind, which was the development and maintanace of the web app.
Team harvest was the nickname for the "Patient Adquisition" team at Mora, it was a vibrant and smart team, everyone played an important role and my job was to build custom onbording experiences for our several Facebook and Google Ads. The target audience was 60+ years so A11y and speed was always a factor to consider. I built over 20+ different onboarding experiences, from simple to complex, one including Geo Localization and Payments (using Stripe) and everything in between.
This was a big one, the CMS for Mora Medical was something I started over the weekend to "pitch" it Monday morning to my CTO, the end result was a highly important tool used by our medical team to manage patients, work schedules, patient notes, send health questionnaires and much more.
Sadly and given the cost of running an app, after Sapien went bankrupt all the systems were shut down, but the sapien app was a clean clone of discord + reddit built on top of Web3 libraries for DAOs. In this project I worked as the Frontend Lead of a team of 5 engineers and 1 designer.
Web3 projects always need this "shining" look to attrack customers and Sapien was not the exception. We developed this Webapp to launch the Passports(NFTs) campaign, and also our landing/blog resource, this webapp was built with NextJS and deployed with Vercel.
Until now you just know Ethan the engineer but beyond this point things get more personal. I would say I like to travel, but I wish could do it more, I'm on a relentless mission to spend less time on the computer and more time with my baby boy Kai and to spend more loving time with my wife, because in a few words I'm playing this game of life because of them. I love to spend summer with my family at our Family beach house (listed on Airbnb) going for some beach walks and connecting, we also have like to do Home Swaps using Home Exchange, to keep exploring new places, below you can find a in some pictures a little bit more about my family.
A note for future employers: I'm passionate about my code, I don't have any ego at this point of my career, I do understand how valuable work is, I'm always looking forward to keep learning. I've been working on toxic and non-toxics enviroments so I know when is worth it to work "hard" and when not, I'm a husband, a father and a son, I have people that depend on me and look up for me. I do belive I'm lucky to be part of any team but I also belive teams are lucky to have a loving and caring team member.
